The Union City Fire Department responded to a house fire on Monday night.
Fire Chief Karl Ullrich said the fire on East Main Street was caused by an overloaded electrical circuit.
An investigation revealed the home owner was using space heaters to keep warm, which were blowing fuses.
When a larger fuse was installed, the wires overloaded and caused fire in the attic.
Chief Ullrich said fortunately damage was minimal, but the home lost electricity.
