McCracken County deputies and detectives responded to an area of Glenn Street in Lone Oak on Sunday, after a collision between a passenger car and motorcycle.
When arriving at Glenn Street, deputies located Melvin Gonzales with what appeared to be serious, but non-incapacitating injuries.
He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, then transported to an out of state hospital.
Preliminary investigations determined 19 year old Tavionna Edwards, who is Gonzales’ girlfriend, had chased after Gonzales with a knife.
She then intentionally ran her vehicle into him while he was on a motorcycle, propelling him into an apartment door.
Tavionna Edwards was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, and Menacing.
The Paducah Police Department and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
