Long time radio, coach and color analyst for the Tennessee Titans has died at the age of 74.
Coach Dave McGinnis died in a Nashville hospital after battling an illness.
“Coach Mac,” as he was known, had been hospitalized since March 4. His health had been declining during the last three weeks.
Coach McGinnis was a football “lifer,” played at TCU before becoming a coach and spent time on the Titan’s coaching staff with Jeff Fisher.
Coach Mac spent four decades in football and later where he later became a part of Titans Radio.
That was where he became a fixture to thousands of Titans fans on radio and was heard here in the Ken Tenn area on 105-7 WQAK. On radio he served as the team’s color analyst alongside Mike Keith and later Taylor Zarzour, sharing insight to the game and storytelling on the mic.
Services for Coach Mac will be announced later.
