Additional law enforcement officers will be at Obion County Schools this morning according to Sheriff Karl Jackson.
On Sunday, Sheriff Jackson said the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a potential threat of violence involving Ridgemont Elementary School.
An immediate investigation began, which quickly identified the origin of the message.
The student believed to be responsible was interviewed in the presence of a parent or guardian, and based on the investigation, authorities determined there was no credible threat to students, staff, or school facilities.
As a precaution, and to provide reassurance, additional deputies will be present at all county schools in the morning.
