Denver Man Sentenced for Attempt to Transport Drugs to West Tennessee

A Denver, Colorado man has been sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to traffic drugs into West Tennessee.

West Tennessee United States Attorney D. Micheal Dunavant said 28 year old Erick Chaparro-Gamboa was issued a sentence of 54 months for his role in conspiring to transport 58 kilograms of cocaine to Tennessee.

Court information said the Texas Department of Safety conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Chaparro-Gamboa, with the cocaine located hidden in a speaker box.

An investigation determined the cocaine, which had a street value at $750,000, was headed to West Tennessee.

In Tennessee federal court, Chaparro-Gamboa pled guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine.
