The City of Martin is still discussing the state of its nepotism policy.
After tabling the topic twice, the policy is back in front of the Martin City Board tonight at the informal meeting.
At the formal board meeting for April, the board discussed how having a nepotism policy in place, further shrinks the candidate pool when positions open.
Alderwoman Celeste Taylor weighed the pros and cons.
Martin Fire Chief Jamie Summers gave a real life example of how the policy may not suit the city.
After the Chiefs testimony, the board continued to converse.
Martin’s next informal City Board meeting will be held tonight at 5:15 at the Martin Police Department.
