Investigation Continues Into Cause of Fatal Union City Plane Crash

An investigation continues today in Union City, following a fatal plane crash at Everett-Stewart Regional Airport.

Two people were killed Wednesday morning, during aerobatics training at the airport.

Obion County Sheriff’s Office reports said witnesses reported the plane nose dive and crash into the solar farm west of the airport terminal.

Officers with the Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene at approximately 10:50, with the pilot and passenger both pronounced deceased at the scene.

An investigator with the Federal Aviation Administration was at the scene Wednesday, with National Transportation Safety Board officials expected to arrive at the airport today.

An investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
