The TVA expects power demand to peak today and tomorrow with a system wide temperature exceeding 95 degrees.
Last summer’s highest energy demand was on August 29th.
Things you can do to save on your power bill include:
Clean your HVAC filters Turn ceiling fans on, circulating counterclockwise, to help cool a room.
Consider cooking meals outside on the grill to prevent your stove and oven from heating your home.
Use large appliances like washing machines and dishwashers later in the evening, to allow your HVAC system a better opportunity to keep up.
No matter where in the region you live, the most important times to be energy-aware are between noon and 8 p.m.
