Kentucky State Police at Post 1 Mayfield is still investigating a Friday morning crash that claimed the life of a Murray man.
Just before 7:00, Post 1 received a call from Marshall County Dispatch requesting assistance investigating a two-vehicle collision in the 7500 block of US 641 South.
The initial investigation indicated a semi-tractor trailer truck operated by 47 year old David A. Izquierdo, of Miami, Florida, was slowing to turn into the parking lot of a business on US-641.
A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by 32 year old Cedric Cherry, of Murray, with reasons still under investigation, failed to slow and collided with the rear of the tractor trailer.
Following the crash, Cherry was pronounced deceased on the scene.
