
Governor Bill Lee has proclaimed Safe Boating Week in Tennessee and boaters are encouraged to refresh their boating safety skills.
Boaters are encouraged to wearing life jackets. Make a float plan, always let someone on shore know the trip itinerary, and make sure everyone wear a life jacket.
Boater are also should know to use an engine cut-off device. Keep an eye on the weather and know what’s going on around you at all times and never boating under the influence.
A B-U-I is involved in one-third of all recreational boating fatalities.
Always designate a sober skipper.
