The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said mowing crews are currently active in counties across District 1.
Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution when approaching mowing zones, as tractors occasionally have to cross travel lanes.
Mowing crews in every county will be working during daylight hours, as weather permits, with support vehicles and workers near the roadway.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet also said political signs and other advertising are not permitted on state highway right of way and should be removed.
State highway personnel may remove signs without notice to the owner.
The District 1 mowing area included twelve counties in the far western part of the state.
