The Tennessee Highway Patrol has announced a Sobriety Roadside Safety Checkpoint for Lake County.
The checkpoint will take place Friday on State Route 21, near the Obion County State Line.
Troopers on the scene will be checking motorists, who may be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Troopers will also take corrective actions for other violations that are observed during the checkpoint.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving, which kills over 16,000 people and injures over 300,000 annually.
