The University of Tennessee at Martin has begun a nationwide search for a new head rodeo coach.
Kurt McGuffin, the Skyhawks Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics, announced coach Chase Thrasher will resign at the end of the current season to pursue other interests.
Thrasher was named to succeed the retirement of longtime coach John Luthi, and is concluding his fourth season.
Thrasher was a four year student-athlete at UT Martin, where he qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo four times in tie down roping and team roping under coach Luthi.
He will continue as coach for the Skyhawks through the College National Finals Rodeo, which is set for June 14th-thru-the-20th in Casper, Wyoming.
