Members of the Union City High School Art Club were recently given a field trip to the Frist Museum of Art in Nashville.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said thirty members of the group were able to see masterpieces by legendary artists such as Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh.
The opportunity centered around a docent-guided tour of the Frist exhibition called “The Impressionist Revolution: Monet to Matisse”.
The Union City students were able to view nearly 50 paintings and sculptures celebrating a 150 year anniversary, while also participating in various hands-on activities.
Additionally, the group viewed an exhibit titled “In Her Place”, which included 100 works of art by an inter-generational group of 28 Nashville-based women artists.
