Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints throughout the Post 1 district.
The intent of the safety checkpoints is to focus on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration and insurance of vehicles, and the valid licensing of drivers.
Troopers will also be on the lookout for motorists who are operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
During the checkpoints, State Police say other violations of law and public safety issues will be addressed.
The Post 1 district of Kentucky State Police covers the eleven far western counties of the state.
